Where GPS Tracking Runs in AssetCues

GPS tells you where an asset is. These two applications put that location on a governed record: one for the vehicles and plant Finance carries on the books, one for the hardware IT is accountable for.

Workflow

How GPS Asset Tracking Works in AssetCues

Connect GPS-tracked assets and mobile verification scans to one register with automated location logging, geofence alerts, and ERP synchronisation.

Why AssetCues

Why AssetCues for GPS Asset Tracking

Maintain visibility across vehicles, containers, and mobile plant with location tracking, movement history, and geofence control.
The most complete asset record

The most complete asset record

GPS location sits beside value, custodian, maintenance history and verification evidence on one record, so a moving asset is managed as a fixed asset, not a dot on a map.

Geofences that enforce custody

Geofences that enforce custody

Boundary crossings are checked against authorised handovers by policy automation, so GPS enforces who is responsible for an asset rather than only reporting where it went.

Location Events Run Through Asset Workflows

Geo-tagged evidence on every asset

Geolocation is captured with the photo, timestamp and verifier at every verification scan, giving auditors the strongest evidence available of both existence and location.

GPS Asset Tracking

Bring Every Moving Asset into View

FAQs

Can GPS-tracked vehicles sit in the same register as our tagged assets?
Yes. A vehicle or container is a fixed asset like any other on AssetCues: it carries an ERP asset number, custodian, value and verification history, and its GPS position is one more field on that record. Finance, IT and Operations work from one register, whether an asset moves or not.
You define a site, yard or territory as a boundary on the map and set an authorised-zone rule per asset class. When a tracked asset crosses the boundary without an authorised handover, the custodian and site owner receive an automated alert, and the crossing is logged with time and direction.
Yes. Every verification scan in the AssetCues mobile app records the phone’s geolocation with the photo, condition, timestamp and verifier ID. Supervisors see captured locations against the expected site as the count runs, and any scan taken away from that site is flagged for review.
Yes. Last-known location, movement history and geofence events belong to the asset record that AssetCues already syncs with your ERP through its prebuilt integrations, so Finance sees where a moving asset is, and who holds it, without a separate feed to build or maintain.
GPS belongs on assets that leave the premises: vehicles, containers, mobile plant and field equipment. Assets that stay on site are better served by RFID for fast verification or RTLS for live indoor position. Because all three report into one register, you choose per asset class rather than for the whole fleet.
